2010 World Cup Soccer - Boston / Cambridge Soccer Bars
Soccer fever has arrived in the USA and it is alive and well ! This past weekend I saw soccer jerseys from past World Cup playoffs, Italy, Germany and other countries as everyone gathered to watch world class soccer all over the city. The bars and resultants that I walked past were full to capacity with people huddled around TVs cheering for soccer. 33 Years ago when I started to play the game of soccer Americans could have cared less about the sport. My how times have changed as this sport has continued to gain popularity and momentum here in the US. Now just look at the level of excitement the World Cup brings.
During the kick off weekend I pretty much remained glued to my TV to watch most of the games. I only ventured away from to conduct an open house and run a handful of errands. As the games become more intense I think they will be best viewed at my local pub. I know most pubs in the area already tuning into the games and some of the local watering holes have scheduled events and specials during the game.
